WONDER LIGHT

Using it for more than a year in a bedside lamp with a standard holder.
Have never switched it off from the power source.

Integrated with the Wiz app, schedules are set to match the sundown timings. Colour switching or brightness adjustment is pretty smooth on the app and response is with minimum lag. Apart from that, numerous colour presets help in easy switching.

This is a great product at a fantastic price.

This is a very easy to install light light that fits the standard bulb holder. And the App is easy to setup. All you need is a 2.4ghz wi-fi connection and you're on your way.
The bulb is quite easily detected and then you can have fun changing the colours.
I also had purchased the original Philips light some 6 years ago, that required a light and a HUB that connected to the router. The whole thing had cost me INR11000 back then.

Now there's no HUB and this light is only around 700 so it's a fraction of the cost for the same (well almost) effect.
I bought two of these and the kids just love playing with the colour changing feature.

I am impressed that this light also supports automatic sleep and wake up schedule that can be done using the Wiz app.

My first smart light

It was delivered today. Completed installing it only an hour ago. Experimented.

I don't know what could be expected or if it could be better otherwise. But, I'm very satisfied with it. I have integrated it with Wiz and Google Assistant. Also, I have played with different colours. Everything is working fine.

It has a lot of features. Some include adjusting the luminous intensity based on your comfort level, remote operating feature to use from your bed, night light, bright light, party lights etc.

How LEDs life is defined?

Unlike conventional lamps that tend to fail suddenly, LEDs gradually depreciate in light output over time. The lifespan of an LED is typically defined by the point at which its luminous flux decreases to 70% of its original output—commonly referred to as L70. This gradual decline ensures more predictable performance and allows for timely maintenance or replacement planning.

Challenges with LED Lighting

LEDs are very sensitive to temperature & also produce a lot of heat during operation. This heat should be removed from system to maintain the junction temperature within prescribed limits.

LED are point sources so are prone to cause glare if the optics is not properly designed.

What is the role of heat sink?

Heat sink is required to dissipated heat generated by LEDs during operation. Since ambient temperature in India varies from – 5 0C to + 55 0C so the heat sink design should ensure effective thermal management under all circumstances. It should be made of high grade aluminum & should have no pores (like in gravity die cast heat sinks) providing resistance to heat flow. Garnet uses aluminum pressure die cast or extrusion heat sinks.
